An international day of celebration in which Madrid's cultural institutions and museums organise activities and open their doors free of charge.

Event Description

International Museum Day is back. A perfect occasion to visit the capital's great museums, such as the Prado, the Reina Sofía or the Thyssen, but also to discover others like the Museum of Romanticism, the Lope de Vega House Museum or the Naval Museum.

The aim of International Museum Day, which had its first edition in 1977, is to raise awareness of the value of museums as a means of social and cultural exchange, mutual understanding, collaboration and peace.
